Hollis is a 501(c)3 Not for Profit Kansas Corporation and a member of the Lutheran Outdoor Ministry Network.
Hollis partners with local churches that subscribe to its mission statement and is operated by a board of directors,
a small staff and a host of volunteers.
The Hollis Renewal Center provides a welcoming environment and experience for individuals and groups seeking spiritual growth and renewal.
In other words ... All guests are extended Christian hospitality, because all are welcome at Hollis.
Hollis is 153 acres of secluded wooded land located 20 minutes west of downtown Kansas City with facilities
for retreats, workshops, meetings and outdoor activities.
Crisscrossed by over five miles of hiking trails, Hollis is a welcome respite for those seeking a to commune with nature just minutes from the busy metro. Flowing from north to south, East Mission Creek supplies ample water supply for the diverse wildlife population here.
Hollis Renewal Center provides "a time and place apart" for individuals, small groups and organizations to pause and reflect on their mission. It embodies
hospitality and gives guests the time and space to be transformed from a collection of individuals into a community.
We take very seriously the gifts of time, land, buildings, and resources as we use them wisely and care for
their sustainability into the future. Hollis is a place for prayer and hospitality to provide opportunities for reflection, learning, and renewal for groups and individuals.
Nominate a COMMUNITY CARE GIVER to receive a 24-hour stay in one of our overnight retreat spaces.
Give the gift of a retreat. Help someone feel pampered in our Meadow Cottage or the Hideaway or a Tiny Cabin. It's a great opportunity to escape reality and take a step back for some much needed relaxation.
As a Partner Congregation you not only are actively providing extra space for your congregation, but for the whole KC metro area.
The board of directors defines the vision and direction of Hollis Renewal Center. Directors serve three year terms, which are renewable.
Positions are voluntary.

The earth and everything in it, the world and its inhabitants, belong to God (Psalm 24.1) CSB.
In gratitude to God and in obligation to the Church and to the community, Hollis Renewal Center welcomes all people regardless of race, religion, color, creed, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, national origin, age, or ancestry. Discrimination is demeaning, destructive and directly at odds with the Gospel of Christ and our goals of fostering equity, mutual understanding and cooperation.
Hollis Renewal Center is located on the ancestral homelands of the Kickapoo, Kaw/Kansa and Osage peoples.
We give thanks for all those who have cared for the land since time immemorial, and we are honored to steward
and continue to care for the land;
so that the land may prosper for future generations.
Our logo represents Hollis Renewal Center as a Christian Witness dedicated to growth and wholeness in Christian living and to the centrality of Christ in life, here, represented by the cross. The cross is entwined with a Mobius Strip which has no inside and no outside, no beginning and no end.
